Ahead of the 2023 poll, the Peoples Dmocratic Party(PDP) Presidential Campaign Council and Management Committee in Ekiti State has compiled a list of members with two former deputy governors Dr Sikiru Tae-Lawal and Professor Olsola Kolapo- Eleka making the list among other 52 chieftains of the party
In the list made available to the media by Chief Sanya Atofarat, the Zonal Publicity Secretary of the PDP (SouthWest),who doubles as Ekiti State PCC’s Director of Media and Publicity , former State Chairman of the party, Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe was inaugurated as acting chairman of the PCC while the former acting governor, Rt Hon Tunji Odeyemi would serve as Secretary.
Ogundipe’s emergence followed the rejection of the chairmanship position by Otunbal Bisi Kolawole, the PDP Governorship candidate in the last election over certain unresolved differences.
Also former Head of Service, Dr Gbenga Faseluka and two former secretaries to the Ekiti State,Ambasaador Dare Bejide ,Dr Modupe Alade were enlisted.
Some former members of the National Assembly like Hon. Yemi Arokodare, Senator Duro Faseyi and Hon Kehinde Agboola .were included.
Speaking after performing the inauguration , former PDP Vice Chairman, SouthWest, Dr Eddie Olafeso,who represented the Dirrctor General ,Governor Aminu Tambuwal urged PCC members to roll off their sleeves and work for the victories of the party’s flagbearer and his running mate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ifeayin Okowa respectively and other PDP candidates
Olafeso hinted that, Local Government, Ward as well as Polling Unit members of the PCC shall be Inuagruated in due course.
Dr Olafeso admonished Nigerians to make informed decision in the 2023 poll alleging they are still paying dearly for the mistakes of the 2019.
He urged the electorates to vote out tbe All Progressives Congress(APC) in the 2023 poll .
The PDP chieftain said members must work for peace to defeat ” the monster call APC and it’s beneficiaries in the country”
According to him , Nigerians has witnessed the worst Christmas ever in Nigerians history alleging that the leadership styles of the APC had plunged Nigeria into monumental disaster without solutions.
In his acceptance speech ,Chief Ogundipe said what is required is the unalloyed commitment to the winning of the Presidential election in the next two months so that the PDP can revamp the battered economy of Nigeria.
Makanjuola call on PDP members to galvanize support for the PDP and Alhaji Abubakar .
“We have been handed a very strategic task, a very challenging assignment, but by the special grace of God, it is not insurmountable, we shall succeed”
Ekiti PDP Management Committee, was also inaugurated which include, Sen. Duro Faseyi, North, Mr. Dipo Anisulowo, Central and Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, South while Mrs. Yemisi Afolabi, is the Secretary.
The occasion was attended members of the PDP in the 16 local government councils in Ekiti .
