Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade on Friday signed the state’s 2023 Appropriation Bill into law.
The N330.235 billion budget is tagged “Quantum Infinitum,” and was assented to in the presence of the Deputy Governor, Professor Evara Esu, the State’s Assembly Speaker, Eteng William Jones and other top government functionaries in attendance.
The governor said he recognises the absolute appropriation powers of the legislature, hence he was signing the budget for the good of the state.
The governor had presented a budget of N330 billion but the house increased it by N235 million before passing it into law.
The Speaker expressed gratitude to his colleagues for working assiduously to see that work on the budget was completed in record time.
