Residents of Gaa Sulu community, Omupo District olin Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State is presently in a mourning mood after one of the hunters who engaged a gang of suspected kidnappers in a gun battle was found dead.
The hunter, it was gathered, lost his live in the aborted kidnap attempt on last Friday night.
Recall that a gun battle ensued between local hunters and suspected kidnappers last Friday in which one of the kidnappers was gunned down and the three abducted victims, a man and two women, were rescued.
Five of the suspected kidnappers were also arrested by a joint team of police operatives and local hunters.
It was gathered on Monday that one of the hunters unfortunately lost his live in the battle against the kidnappers.
“It was not known to us till this morning when his decomposed corpse was discovered at a nearby bush close to the area where there was an exchange of gunfire between the hunters and the kidnappers,” a source in the community said.
