Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their pursuit of Spain forward Ferran Torres, with the French champions reportedly moving closer to an agreement with Barcelona for the 2026 World Cup winner.
PSG initially submitted an offer of about €40 million for Torres, but Barcelona rejected the opening proposal as the Spanish club sought a higher fee for the attacker.
The situation has since developed quickly, with reports indicating that negotiations have progressed and the two clubs are now discussing an improved package believed to be worth around €55 million, including bonuses.
Torres has reportedly shown interest in the move, which would see him reunite with PSG coach Luis Enrique, who previously worked with him during his time with the Spanish national team.
The forward’s value has risen following his outstanding contribution to Spain’s World Cup triumph. Torres scored the winning goal in the final against Argentina, giving him a major role in the country’s title-winning campaign.
For Barcelona, the decision to sell Torres would represent a significant financial opportunity while also requiring the club to adjust its attacking options ahead of the new season.
PSG, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen their forward line and have identified Torres as one of their preferred targets. The French side are reportedly keen to complete the negotiations quickly as the transfer window approaches its final stages.
