Operatives of the Jigawa State Police Command have arrested three hoodlums over the alleged robbing of three bags of pepper and raping a housewife in Ringim Local Government Area of the state.
The State Police Public relation Officer,DSP. Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the arrest of the suspects in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday, 17 April, 2024.
According to Adam, the incident occurred on Sunday at about 0200hrs in Chori Village Ringim LGA when three unknown persons armed with cutlasses, trespassed into a house, attacked and robbed the husband of five bags of pepper, later one of the robbers raped his wife.
He said upon receipt of the report, detectives attached to Ringim Division swung, into action where one Abubakar Isah, 25years; Umar Ibrahim, 25yrs; and Umar Nasara, 30yrs, all of Chori village, Ringim LGA were arrested in connection with the crime.
The state police image-maker said on interrogation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the crime and were immediately transferred to SCID Dutse for discreet investigation.
He said the suspects will be arraigned before the court after investigation.
