Gunmen said to be herdsmen on Saturday and Sunday unleashed a reign of terror on Ayilamo-Anyiin Road and in Chembe community in Logo LGA of Benue State killing 10 persons, including students.
The spokesman of Logo LGA, Paul Pevikyaa, confirmed the sad development.
“The killings have become a daily routine, and I’m sorry to tell you that more than 10 persons were killed at the weekend by armed herders. Some of them were students. One of the victims was a student in Jalingo, Taraba State.”
“When he came to spend some time at home, in the night (Saturday) they came attacking one of his sisters. He heard his sister’s voice calling out to him, and in an attempt to check what was wrong with her, they killed him,” Paul Pevikyaa
As at the time of filing the report, the Benue State Police Command has yet to comment on the killing.
