Former presidential aide Reno Omokri says his recent nomination as an ambassador-designate has given him a deeper understanding of forgiveness, which he attributes to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
In a statement on Sunday via X, Omokri thanked God, his family, and President Tinubu, describing the nomination as a powerful example of leadership rooted in unity and national healing. “I thank God Almighty for this opportunity and look forward to serving my country and humanity. I am especially grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary and exemplary leadership,” he said.
Omokri added that Tinubu’s approach to governance has reshaped his understanding of patriotism and personal grace. “The President has taught me the meaning of forgiveness and shown me what true patriotism entails,” he said.
He further described the president as demonstrating Christlike qualities and praised him as “the right man, at the right time, for the right job,” deserving respect and support from all Nigerians.
Omokri also prayed for God’s blessings on President Tinubu and for Nigeria to prosper under his administration. He extended gratitude to his parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, crediting them for shaping his character.
He praised National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for his integrity, saying, “If all the goodness in the world could be found in one person, it would be Malam Nuhu Ribadu.” Omokri also thanked his wife, Hana, for her unwavering support during challenging political periods.
In a separate message, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for including him in the ambassadorial nominations. “I thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating me as an ambassador of our great country Nigeria. This is a great honor, and I give God all the glory,” he said.
