The Paris Saint-Germain camp faced an unsettling moment in Bilbao after their UEFA Champions League fixture, as the team’s bus was struck with stones outside their hotel in the early hours, a source within the club confirmed to AFP.
According to the source, the bus was empty at the time of the attack and had been parked for the night. Local reports indicated that the vehicle sustained visible cracks, while police arrested two suspects in connection with the incident. Despite the disruption, PSG players and staff safely made their way to the airport for their return flight to Paris on Thursday morning.
The club is weighing its legal options and may file an official complaint regarding the attack.
PSG had drawn 0-0 with Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night, a result that leaves the reigning European champions sitting third in the expanded 36-team Champions League qualifying league, while Bilbao occupy the 28th position.
