The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has arraigned a visa agent, Adediwura Adesina Stanley, before the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja over alleged forgery and conspiracy.
The defendant was brought before Justice Ismail Ijelu on charges related to the alleged use of forged documents to secure a United Kingdom visa.
The case was filed under charge number ID/27584C/2026.
Stanley was arraigned alongside two other suspects said to be at large, Olufemi Samuel Adewunmi and Oluwayemi Oyinkan.
According to the anti-graft agency, the suspects allegedly conspired to forge several documents.
These documents reportedly include a corporate payslip and a bank statement said to have been issued by United Bank for Africa.
Prosecutors said the documents were allegedly prepared to deceive the United Kingdom immigration authorities.
The prosecution team asked the court to take the defendant’s plea during the hearing.
Stanley pleaded not guilty to the 20-count charge filed against him.
Following the plea, the defence counsel informed the court that a bail application had already been submitted.
The anti-corruption commission opposed the request, arguing that the defendant might attempt to flee.
Prosecutors also told the court that the suspect had allegedly absconded in an earlier case filed against him.
After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Ijelu granted the defendant bail in the sum of ten million naira.
The court also ordered that Stanley must submit his international passport to the court and avoid travelling abroad while the case is ongoing.
The matter was adjourned until April 1 for the commencement of trial.
