A University of Lagos student has told a Lagos court how a lecturer allegedly lured her into his office and assaulted her after an examination.

The 20-year-old undergraduate, who testified before a Lagos State High Court in Ikeja, said the incident happened after the lecturer asked her to come see him following an exam.

She explained that the lecturer approached her during an examination and encouraged her to visit his office later, assuring her not to worry about her performance.

According to her, she initially tried to meet him but did not find him in his office until the following day when she saw him again on campus after another exam.

The student told the court that the lecturer signaled to her and they both walked to his office, which she described as isolated and without a secretary.

While they were inside, two other students briefly entered but were sent away by the lecturer, leaving her alone with him in the office.

She said the situation changed suddenly after she was asked to close the door, adding that the lecturer allegedly forced himself on her shortly after.

The student told the court she left the office in distress and immediately reported the incident to a friend, who encouraged her to take further action.

She said the case was reported within the school system and later taken to appropriate authorities, including medical and police channels.

The Lagos State Government is prosecuting the lecturer on charges related to sexual assault, while the court adjourned the matter for further hearing.
