Former Super Eagles captain and Arsenal legend, Nwankwo Kanu, has joined millions of fans celebrating after Arsenal finally ended their 22-year wait for an English Premier League title.
The former Nigerian international reacted after Mikel Arteta’s side were officially crowned champions on Tuesday night following Manchester City’s draw against Bournemouth, a result that confirmed Arsenal as league winners for the first time since the famous “Invincibles” era of 2004.
Kanu, who was part of Arsenal’s historic unbeaten squad under Arsène Wenger, described the achievement as well deserved while celebrating the club’s long-awaited return to the top of English football.
The former striker remains one of Arsenal’s most respected African legends after helping the club win multiple trophies during his time in North London, including two Premier League titles and several FA Cups.
Arsenal’s latest triumph sparked massive celebrations across London and among supporters worldwide, with players, club legends and fans flooding social media with emotional reactions after the title was confirmed.
The league victory also marked a major milestone for manager Mikel Arteta, who guided Arsenal to the club’s first Premier League crown in more than two decades after several near-misses in recent seasons.
