The Federal High Court has announced the death of Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of the Kano Judicial Division, who passed away on May 21, 2026, after a brief illness.
According to a statement released by the court, Justice Yunusa died at the State Medical Centre in Kano and was later buried in line with Islamic rites.
The court described the late judge as a respected jurist who served the judiciary with dedication, integrity, and strong commitment to justice throughout his career on the Bench.
The statement noted that Justice Yunusa made valuable contributions to the legal profession and would be remembered by fellow judges, lawyers, court workers, and others who worked closely with him over the years.
The Chief Judge, management, judges, and staff of the Federal High Court expressed sadness over his passing and extended condolences to his family.
The court also prayed for strength and comfort for the family during the difficult period following the loss.
The statement, signed by the Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Catherine Oby Christopher, prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the late judge’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa served at the Kano Judicial Division of the Federal High Court until his death.
