A Lagos commercial driver has reportedly lost his life after he was allegedly assaulted by officers of the Nigerian Air Force following a road accident that happened on one of the state’s major highways.
The incident reportedly happened after the driver was involved in a minor collision with a vehicle occupied by some Air Force officers. What began as a simple traffic accident later turned into a violent confrontation that ended in tragedy.
According to eyewitness accounts, the officers accused the driver of damaging their vehicle and demanded money from him as compensation for the accident.
Trouble reportedly started when the driver explained that he did not have the amount being requested, leading to a heated argument between both parties at the scene.
Witnesses said the disagreement quickly escalated, with the officers allegedly attacking the driver physically and repeatedly hitting him while other road users watched in shock.

However, the driver was said to have sustained serious injuries during the assault and was rushed for urgent medical attention shortly after the incident.
Despite attempts to save his life at different medical facilities, reports said the victim later died from injuries believed to have been caused during the attack.
