The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has reduced the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, across its retail outlets nationwide.
The price adjustment follows a recent move by the Dangote Refinery, which lowered its petrol gantry price by N85 from N1,285 to N1,200 per litre.
Checks indicate that petrol is now selling for about N1,255 per litre at NNPCL stations, down from the previous N1,330, marking a reduction of N75.
In Abuja, the new pump price stands at N1,295 per litre, compared to the former N1,361, reflecting a decrease of N71 per litre.
The revised pricing has been implemented across multiple states, with slight variations depending on location and distribution costs.
The development signals a fresh shift in Nigeria’s downstream oil market, coming amid ongoing adjustments in supply and pricing dynamics.
The reduction is expected to ease pressure on consumers and may trigger competitive pricing among independent marketers.
More updates are anticipated as the new petrol prices continue to take effect nationwide as of April 1, 2026.
