Residents Imana village of Ikobi council Ward in Apa Local Government Area of of Benue State are currently in a mourning mood after suspected armed herders killed four people, injured two on the evening of Wednesday, 14 February, 2024
Confirming the sad development, a village elder, Atule Amodu, said“ They (armed herders) killed four persons and injured one. They invaded the people there. The people are surrounded by hills. That was how they took them unawares and began to kill them. The attackers are armed herders.”
“This year if you come to our place there is hunger because we can no longer go to farm. Our wives are now going about looking for food,”Atule added.
The Chairman of Apa Development Association, Barrister Eche Akpoko, who also confirmed the attack, said so far four corpses were recovered.
As at the time of filing this report, the state police command has yet to comment on the development.
