The Cross River State Police Command has paraded 21 suspected criminals involved in various crimes in the state.
Those paraded by the Police Commissioner Sule Balarabe include four notorious kidnappers, two notorious armed robbers, one notorious armed robbers/cultist, among others.
Items recovered from the suspects include one AK46 riffle, three locally made pistols, one G3riffle, seven locally made single barrel gun with other manufacturer accessories, one walkie talkies, one live cartridge, three empty cartridges and some substances suspected to be hard drugs and criminal charms.
Balarabe, said the suspects will be charged to court but failed to mention how many convictions the command has achieved within the previous year.
He however promised that the command will increase visibility policing in the state, improve interagency partnership, intelligence sharing, confidence building patrols and heightened surveillance activities.
Meanwhile the command has kept silence on the Cross River State Women Commissioner Getrude Njar who was kidnapped over twenty four hours ago.
Njar, an associate professor of survey was reportedly abducted along Maybe Avenue in Calabar South Local Government Area.
The State Information Commissioner Eric Anderson has confirmed the incident.
He said her car has been found and retrieved and the government will close up on the kidnappers.
Njar was before her appointment as commissioner weeks ago the special adviser to the state governor Professor Ben Ayade on Women Affairs and hails from Ikom in Central Cross River.
