Lagos lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliott has publicly appealed to Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, asking for forgiveness over any misunderstanding that may have emerged during recent political developments in Lagos.
Elliott made the emotional appeal during a television appearance where he reflected on his long political relationship with the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.
The Surulere lawmaker said he still considers Gbajabiamila his political leader and mentor despite growing rumours of tension between both men in recent weeks.
According to him, if he had offended the presidential Chief of Staff in any way through political activities or decisions, the action was never intentional.
The actor-turned-politician stressed that he remains loyal to Gbajabiamila and committed to the political growth of Surulere.
His comments come shortly after Gbajabiamila publicly revealed that he nearly lost his position as Chief of Staff because of reports allegedly linking Desmond Elliott to the Lagos Assembly leadership crisis.
That revelation had triggered fresh political conversations in Lagos, especially within APC circles where tensions over the Assembly crisis and future primaries have continued to grow.
Elliott, however, dismissed suggestions of a serious feud, insisting that political disagreements should not destroy long-standing relationships.
The lawmaker also used the opportunity to defend his decision to seek another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, arguing that legislative experience remains important for constituency development.
His latest remarks have already generated reactions within Surulere politics, where supporters and critics continue debating his political future ahead of the next APC primaries.
Observers believe the public apology may be part of efforts to calm tensions and rebuild political trust as internal battles within Lagos APC become more intense.
