Gunmen have reportedly attacked a private maternity hospital in Nkpologwu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State and forcefully took away four newborn babies.
It was gathered that the incident took place on Tuesday night.
A source from the community who confirmed the incident, said they knew about it Wednesday morning.
The source said: “It happened in our community, and people have been discussing it in hush tones since Wednesday morning. They said some gunmen stormed the hospital (name withheld) and took away four babies from the hospital.
“From what people are saying in the community, no one was injured or killed during the attack.”
Speculations are rife they gunmen may have kidnapped the babies for ritual purposes.
Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said no such information at his disposal.
