A suspected native doctor identified as Babatunde Kolawole is currently cooling –off in one of the cells of the Ogun State Police Command for being in possession of fresh dead body.
The herbalist was arrested Operatives of the Ogun State Amotekun Corps in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The State Police Spokesperson in the state, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest the man in a statement on Sunday, said the man told the Amotekun Corps operatives who arrested him with the male corpse that he was trying to revive him.
“Although the suspect did not deny the incident, he claimed to be a native doctor who was attempting to revive the deceased,” Odutola said.
She said it remains unclear how Kolawole “obtained the fresh corpse during the late hours of the night.”
The state police image maker said, nobody has come forward to claim the body, and the suspect was yet to reveal any further information about the source of the dead body.
The corpse was said to have been conveyed to the Ifo General Hospital for an autopsy, “in order to gather more information and solve the case.”
Meanwhile, the Sango-Ota Divisional Police Officer has urged the general public to come forward and provide useful information related to the incident.
