The Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Dr Nkeiruka Onyejeocha,has disclosed the reasons behind the inauguration of a re-constituted Presidential Tracking Team in Abuja, consisting of 22 members.
Speaking at the inauguration on Thursday, 29 February, 2024,Onyejeocha said the federal government believes that effectively monitoring government programs and policies will encourage prudence and accountability in the public service.
The minister also added that the team’s purpose is to oversee and track the progress of projects in alignment with job creation, economic growth, and a zero-tolerance policy for unfinished projects.
According to her, the ministry’s focus revolves around five key areas: sustained inclusive growth, agricultural enhancement, food security, education, and social investment.
The Director of Policy, Research,and Analysis at the Ministry, Chris Amadi, expressed optimism that the team would produce valuable recommendations.
He emphasized the importance of tracking government projects until their implementation stage to ensure they benefit the Nigerian people.
