Senate has passed a bill amending the Legislative Houses Powers and Privileges Act 2017, which seeks to preserve the powers of both chambers of the legislature.
The amended bill passed on Wednesday was among three bills passed by the Senate, including a bill to ensure the smooth and orderly transfer of power from one government to another.
The Senate also received the annual reports of the Auditor General of the federation on the accounts of the federation for the years 2016, 2017, & 2018 which was laid by the Chairman of Senate Committee on Public Accounts; Senator Matthew Urhoghide.
Also on Wednesday, Senate read for the second time, a bill seeking to provide for the establishment of the Federal College of Education Technical, located in Iwo, Osun State.
There was also a second reading of the bill to establish the Federal Orthopaedic Centre in Ihitte, Imo state.
