The forced kiss of Spanish FA President Luis Rubiales with Jenni Hermoso has took a new dimension as Angeles Bejar, the mother of Rubiales locked herself in a church, just as she also begun a hunger strike until her son is cleared.
According to reports emanating fromin Spain the bejar has vowed to remain in the church until the case is settled in favour of her son.
Recall that the 46-year-old Rubiales has refused to step down from his position despite being provisionally suspended by FIFA.
The FA chief has been widely condemned across the world for kissing Hermoso.
Rubiales kissed the forward on the lips without her consent during their medal presentation at the 2023 FIFA Women World Cup.
Rubiales had refused to resign after an emergency assembly was called last Friday.
But his mother, Bejar, has now declared a hunger strike until a solution is found as she believes that her son is going through an “inhumane and bloody witch hunt”
Spanish news agency, EFE reports that pensioner Bejar and her sister-in-law snuck into the church.
According to the agency, the women checked into the Divina Pastora de Motril Church in Granada on Monday morning, just as they also refused to leave even after the priest had left.
The report also added that Bejar She says she will not eat or leave the church.
