The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Plateau State sector has confirmed that a trailer conveying people and cows in the early hours of Tuesday, 6 February, 2024 lost control at the Gada Biu/Kabong flyover bridge in the Jos North local government area of the state, killing three of the passengers and about 10 of the cows.
The Spokesman of the FRSC, Route Commander Peter Longsan, confirmed the sad development to newmen, adding that three other occupants of the vehicle, who survived sustained different degrees of injury, are now receiving treatment in a hospital.
“An accident happened in the night; the trailer was carrying people and cows when the accident occurred. We evacuated the people, and the vehicle moved along the way.
“Three people who were in the vehicle died, and the three surviving occupants were injured and evacuated to a hospital. About 10 cows died,” Longsan said.
It was not confirmed where the vehicle was coming from or where it was headed before falling off the bridge but the FRSC, community members, and other stakeholders helped in the evacuation at the accident scene.
