National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the replacement of its sacked Director General, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah with Mrs Christy Uba.

Mrs Christy Uba as NYSC ‘Overseer’

A notice to that effect signed, Wednesday, by the organisation’s Director, Press and Public Relations, Eddy Megwa, said Mrs Uba takes over the administration of the NYSC being its most senior Director, as directed by the Presidency’s letter sacking Gen. Fadah.

Uba ‘the most senior Director in the Scheme has taken over the leadership of the Corps in the capacity of Overseer, pending the appointment of a substantive Director General by Mr President,’ read the notice.

It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari, last week, approved the immediate sack of Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier-General Fadah.

Presidency sources claimed that General Kukah, who has been in office barely six months, was removed over offences bordering on incompetence,

Gen. Fadah was fired by the Presidency, as it alleged ‘glaring incompetence’ demonstrated by the former NYSC chief in his six months tenure in the position.

The Presidency further directed the dismissed NYSC Director General to formally hand over duties to the most senior officer at the organisation, who is expected to act in interim capacity, pending the official appointment of a substantive head.
