May Yul-Edochie has approached the Federal High Court in Lagos, asking for an order directing the suspension of several social media accounts she claims have been repeatedly used to target her with abusive, false and damaging content.
The request is part of a broader lawsuit in which the entrepreneur and brand influencer alleges that she has been subjected to a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying and character assassination across multiple online platforms.
In documents filed before the court, May listed Yinka Omolola Theisen and several other individuals as defendants, accusing them of using social media to circulate publications she described as defamatory and harmful to her reputation.
She is asking the court to compel social media companies and relevant regulatory authorities to deactivate the identified accounts while the case is being determined.
The applicant also wants the court to restrain the defendants from making further comments or posts which she alleges are intended to ridicule, intimidate or incite hatred against her.
According to the suit, the alleged online attacks have caused reputational damage, emotional distress and continued harassment, making judicial intervention necessary to prevent further harm.
In addition to the request for the accounts to be disabled, May is seeking an order directing the defendants to remove all posts and publications she considers defamatory from their social media pages.
The case is the latest legal development arising from the highly publicised disputes involving members of the Yul-Edochie family, which have continued to attract significant public attention online.
The Federal High Court is expected to hear the application as proceedings in the matter continue.
