Voters at the Durumi II Polling Unit in Abuja Municipal Area Council raised concerns over missing names from the voter register during Saturday’s FCT Area Council election.
Many residents turned out to vote, but several discovered their names were not on the register displayed for verification.
Names starting with the letters C, E, H, and I were reportedly absent from the posted list, a fact confirmed by our correspondent.
Chidi Uchechi, one of the affected voters, said he could not find his name and noted that other names beginning with C were also missing.
Some voters expressed suspicion, claiming the omissions could be intentional to influence the election outcome.
“These officials know what they are doing. Why are some names omitted? It seems like the election could be rigged,” one voter said.
Besides missing names, there were complaints about poor organization and coordination of the voting process at the polling unit.
Party agents were involved in heated discussions over how the polling exercise was being conducted.
The issues caused frustration among voters, with some questioning the overall fairness of the process.
Voting continued despite the challenges, but the omissions and coordination problems highlighted concerns about the management of the election at Durumi II.
