A man identified as Bem Matthew of Korinya-City, Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State who is currently cooling off in police detention for allegedly stabbing wife to death has confessed to police operative why he did the act.
Responding to questions at the police station, the suspect confessed that he stabbed his wife to death because she was no longer “submissive to him”.
The man, it was gathered, committed the act around 7:03 am on Tuesday.
Eye witness said the deceased was stabbed on the rib, back and thigh.
Neighbors stormed the scene of the incident and apprehended the suspect while the deceased’s body was taken to the mortuary.
The suspect was eventually arrested by men of the Konshisha Divisional Police Station.
It was also gathered that the union between the man and his wife was blessed with four children.
The remains of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary of Saint Joseph’s Clinic and Maternity, Korinya City .
As at the time of filing this report, the Benue State Police Command is yet to comment on the development.
