Nollywood Actress Cynthia Anijekwu Appeals For Help After Cancer Returns

Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cancer for the second time.

The actress disclosed that her condition has worsened after the disease spread to her bones, leaving her in urgent need of expensive medical treatment, including radiation therapy and another surgery.

Speaking in an emotional video shared on social media, Anijekwu said she was first diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and underwent surgery and chemotherapy, believing she had overcome the illness.

According to her, doctors later discovered that the cancer had returned and spread, significantly increasing the cost of treatment, which she said now requires about ₦600,000 every month

The actress pleaded with Nigerians to support her financially, saying she has been in and out of the hospital and is determined to keep fighting the disease.

“I need to live. I need to survive,” she said, appealing to members of the public to contribute whatever they can toward her treatment.

Anijekwu also revealed that the illness has affected both of her breasts, while the financial burden of continuous treatment has become overwhelming for her and her family.

Before her health challenge became public, the actress featured in several English and Igbo-language Nollywood productions.

Her appeal has since drawn sympathy from fans, colleagues and well-wishers, with many calling for support to help her access the medical care she urgently needs.
