A major controversy has hit English football after the co-owners of non-league side Maldon & Tiptree FC were charged with rape, sexual assault, and human trafficking offences.
The accused, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow and Scott Drewitt-Barlow, were arrested following an investigation by Essex Police into allegations involving sexual exploitation and other serious offences.
Authorities said several properties connected to the pair were searched during the operation, including the football club’s stadium and other locations in Essex.
