President Bola Tinubu has returned to the country after completing a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom.
He landed in Lagos with the First Lady and is set to observe the Sallah holiday in the state.
Senior government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, were at the airport to receive him on arrival.
While in the UK, Tinubu met with King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer as part of efforts to deepen bilateral relations.
He also oversaw the signing of a £746 million deal targeted at upgrading major port facilities in Lagos State.
Nigeria and the United Kingdom further signed three key Memoranda of Understanding focusing on migration cooperation and border control.
The agreements also address efforts to tackle organised immigration crime and improve visa access for British businesses in Nigeria.
As part of the arrangement, Nigeria will begin accepting UK-issued identity letters for individuals without valid passports.
This is expected to speed up the return process for those without legal stay in the UK, including offenders and rejected asylum seekers.
Both nations also agreed to enhance intelligence sharing and carry out joint actions against visa fraud and related crimes.
A new system for verifying travel and application documents will be introduced to curb cases of forged records and fake job offers.
Officials say the outcome of the visit signals stronger cooperation between both countries in areas of security and economic development.
