Governor Ademola Adeleke has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election, securing another term in office after the conclusion of the electoral process.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes, giving the incumbent a winning margin of 66,252 votes. (Premium Times Nigeria)
The African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.
The result was announced by the Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, after votes from the 30 local government areas of the state were collated.
Adeleke won in 19 local government areas, while Oyebamiji emerged victorious in 11. (Punch Newspapers)
