Paris Saint-Germain have been directed by a French labour court to pay former forward Kylian Mbappe about €60 million in outstanding wages and bonuses, following a ruling delivered on Tuesday.
The decision comes months after Mbappe ended his long association with the Paris club, completing a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in June 2024.
Mbappe had approached the court with a far larger claim, seeking more than €260 million from PSG, while the French champions, in a counter position, had insisted the player owed them €440 million.
In its ruling, the court dismissed Mbappe’s argument that PSG wrongly applied French labour classifications to his contract, limiting the scope of his successful claims to unpaid earnings and bonuses.
Despite the order, PSG have not issued any immediate response on whether they plan to challenge the judgment or comply with the payment directive.
The ruling adds another layer to the already complex legal fallout from Mbappe’s high-profile exit from the club.
Mbappe, now with Real Madrid, has remained silent publicly since the decision was handed down.
PSG, on their part, are yet to clarify their next legal steps in the matter.
