Police Bust Suspected Drug Dealers, Recover 132 Sachets of Tramadol

Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 132 sachets of suspected tramadol during an operation aimed at tackling the distribution of illegal drugs.

The suspects, both aged 54, were arrested during a stop-and-search operation carried out by operatives attached to Operation Delta Shield on Nnebisi Road in Asaba, Delta State.

Police intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number ZBL-549-XA and searched the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the suspected 100mg tramadol.

The two suspects were identified as Hillary Osondu and Abubakar Bello. They are currently in police custody while investigations continue.

In another operation on the same day, police in Warri recovered a stolen ash-coloured 2003 Toyota Corolla, with registration number WW-579MD, less than two hours after it was reported missing from Awani Close, Ajamugha.

Detectives from the A Division and the Dragon Patrol Team traced the vehicle to Winners Church Road in Ughelli. Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those behind the theft.

Delta State Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, praised the officers involved in the operations and directed personnel across the command to sustain intelligence-driven efforts against crime.

He also appealed to residents to remain alert and provide useful information that could assist the police in preventing and solving crimes across the state.
