Nigeria’s Super Falcons have made a bold cultural statement ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after arriving in Morocco dressed in colourful green-and-white Adire outfits, reflecting the country’s rich heritage as they prepare to defend their continental title.
The African champions landed in Rabat following the conclusion of a 10-day training camp in Casablanca, where head coach Justine Madugu and his technical crew put the squad through intensive preparations ahead of the tournament.
Clad in beautifully designed Adire gowns with matching head wraps, the players drew admiration from fans and football followers, with many praising the team for proudly promoting Nigerian culture on the international stage.
The players also took time to celebrate their arrival by sharing photos and videos on social media, giving supporters a glimpse of the team’s relaxed atmosphere before the start of the competition.
Forward Esther Okoronkwo, midfielder Jennifer Echegini and defender Michelle Alozie entertained fans with a light-hearted “Rich Aunty Vibes” video, while goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie posted humorous clips and photos that quickly attracted attention online.
Other members of the squad, including Tosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi, also joined in showcasing the traditional attire, adding excitement to the team’s arrival in Morocco.
The Falcons head into the tournament in high spirits after defeating Tanzania 2-1 in an international friendly, a result that boosted confidence ahead of the continental championship.
