Crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, may soon regain his freedom following a new development in his ongoing legal case.
The Nigerian Police Force has withdrawn its counter-affidavit earlier filed to oppose his bail application, marking a major shift in the proceedings.
The development was confirmed on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, by human rights activist Omoyele Sowore.
Blord has been in custody at the Kuje Correctional Centre for over 12 days after being arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
He is facing charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, impersonation, and alleged misuse of the image of social media commentator VeryDarkMan.
Sowore explained that the withdrawal of the police objection means the bail application is now effectively unopposed.
According to him, all parties involved are reportedly working towards a resolution of the matter.
He stated that the bail request had already been filed and that the legal process was now progressing toward a court decision.
With the police stepping back from their earlier stance, Blord’s legal team is expected to push for a swift hearing on his release.
The development is seen as a significant turning point in the case, which has attracted public attention in recent days.
Further court proceedings are expected to determine the final outcome of the bail application.
