A dismissed Nigerian soldier, Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boi, has challenged the Nigerian Army to release its payroll after presenting alleged evidence of his earnings while in service.
Olamilekan made the claims in a video, displaying bank transaction alerts which he said showed that soldiers receive modest wages.
According to him, one of the alerts reflected a payment of about N112,000, which he insisted represented typical earnings during his time in the military.
He stated that his intention was not to damage the image of the Army but to present facts backed by evidence.
The former lance corporal also maintained that soldiers are often required to purchase their own protective gear, including helmets and fragmentation jackets.
He urged Nigerians with relatives in the military to verify his claims independently.
Olamilekan further challenged the Army to make its payroll public to clarify the situation and address the concerns raised.
His comments come shortly after the Nigerian Army dismissed his earlier allegations as false and misleading.
The development has sparked renewed debate over welfare conditions and transparency within the military.
