Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has announced that she is now a three-time Guinness World Record holder after her September 2025 achievement was officially recognised as breaking two records at once. She revealed that her record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice also qualifies as the largest serving of rice overall.

Baci shared the news on Tuesday via Instagram, updating her bio to read “Chef X3 Guinness World Record Holder.” She expressed excitement at the unexpected recognition, describing it as a remarkable way to begin 2026.

According to her, Guinness World Records confirmed the development in an official email, explaining that a review of record guidelines showed her jollof rice attempt automatically met the requirements for another global record, thereby increasing her total number of Guinness titles.

Reacting to the message, Baci said she was shocked but happy, explaining that she only discovered the additional record months after the initial announcement. What she believed was a single achievement later turned out to be two records earned on the same day.

The September 2025 feat involved preparing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice at a cookout in Lagos, making it the largest pot of the dish ever prepared. This achievement followed her first Guinness World Record in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon.

Baci credited her team for the success, especially her close collaborator, noting that the record was achieved through shared vision and teamwork. She also expressed gratitude to God, describing the milestone as an unexpected blessing in her journey.
